Gomm Cottage accommodation comprises only one cabin in twentyAlbany holiday accommodation acres of picturesque, undulating pasture, forest, lawns and cottage gardens. The cabin was originally situated in Mt Barker from the 1890’s as a Western Australian Government Railway dwelling and was moved to this property in the 1980’s.

This charming self-contained cabin has two bedrooms including a luxurious queen size bed and two bunks, one bathroom (with shower and deep bath), one toilet, one dining room, a comfy verandah, a pot belly fire, electric blankets, a television and dvd player, a CD player/radio, and a fully functioning kitchen. Quality linen and towels are provided and refreshed after four days’ stay. We also have a BBQ and private courtyard area for guests. Included in the characteristic features of this historic dwelling are pressed tin ceilings, golden pine walls, mullioned windows, artwork, a small library and a rocking chair.

Surrounded by its own cottage garden with a privacy fence, the cabin is nestled in a forest through which bucolic rural views are afforded. Furthermore, the property features two dams, fed by the winter creek, and vistas of Oyster Harbour and the Porongurups. Potable water is stored in our rain water tanks. Our farm has pet animals: dogs, cows, donkeys, chooks and ducks. A small vegie garden provides seasonal produce. Guests are encouraged to wander and enjoy all this tranquil, relaxing property has to offer. The main stone house is Heritage listed and was built in 1906. Gomm Cottage is close to the pristine Ledge Beach and Nanarup Beach, the Kalgan River, world class wineries, breathtakingly beautiful walks and only 15 minutes from Albany CBD.
